From 50 to 1: The Top 50 Movies of all time (as proposed by the BFI)

I have stagnated,
life has stagnated,
tree.

Sorry that started getting all Haiku so I went with it. The regular reader of this Blog will have noticed a distinct lack of posts (since November last year in fact). Its unstructured form of random posting had led to decay and things just stopped moving. I wanted to watch movies to enjoy and not because I felt I needed to post.

Well now that will change. As I already run the domain I will be keeping the blog as it is however my posts will now be heading in a new direction, the clue for which is in the title above!

In 2012 the BFI (British Film Institute) polled 846 critics, programmers, academics and distributors to update their list of what, in the experts opinion, are the greatest Movies of all time (to date). This will obviously contrast with popular opinion on sites such as IMDB.com and RottenTomatoes.com.

I am intending to work from the bottom to the top and produce a 4 opinion review amalgamating score from both public review sites, my own opinion and that of the BFI. This will allow me to continue to watch what I want but still discover new content that may have passed me by otherwise.

The list is garnered from www.bfi.org.uk so if you wish you can check out the movies to come, however I recommend hitting this blind. The movies that the critics rate may surprise you more than you think...

Without further ado I am off to watch film no 50: La Jetée
