What, you think I was Harry Warden or something? Hey, Michael, check this out.
Labouring the 3D premise and the spookiness of the Gas Mask this terrible movie is neither scary nor effective. Its a slog from start to end.
With a prologue that is sublime in its ridiculousness the movie suddenly grinds to a halt. If this film was sex it would be an awkward spurt followed by lots of foreplay and with no real payoff at the end. It suffered from any focus on a central protagonist switching central characters midway and leaving the viewer feeling very disconnected. Worse then that it retcons earlier events to fit the films “twist”, this is the lowest form of cinema cheating.
Not worth spending time on My Bloody Valentine may be gory but lacks any real panache and the “Dark Mineshafts” are lit up brighter then my neighbours house at Christmas.
