Marco Polo Parts 1 and 2The Experiment: To watch Doctor who in its entirety from episode one onwards. The madness? My 9 year old daughter is joining me… its 1964.
Due to my sheer lack of planning and Lego Half Term (don’t ask) we are combining these two episodes.
Some notes on the production. Marco Polo no longer exists in the BBCs archives. This is a reconstruction using audio recordings and photographs taken on set. Its hard work even for a fan.
My Thoughts:The story is well written, this is a good job as the lack of video makes the pot damn tricky. The strength, i guess, is that the story is so good. Imaging The Edge of Destruction without the video! Its impossible to gauge production values but they seem to be good. One thing that springs to mind is the sheer lack of the Doctor. He is barely in part two and has just one line… and some groaning.
Jessica’s Thoughts:I loved these two episodes. The colour got a point. Score 1!! The photos took away that point.Score –1!!!
Coming up… Five Hundred Eyes
WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE A LINE TO READ. IT’S AN OUTRAGE!
