Planes, Trains and Automobiles

This is without a doubt one of the funniest buddy comedies ever made. The basic premise is that Steve Martins uptight Ad Exec is desperate to get home in time for thanksgiving but when his plane is cancelled has to reach Chicago by alternate routes. This thrust him into the company of John Candy's character who is the absolute antitheses of Steve's uptight perfectionist. He is gruff, crude and generally comfortable in his sloppiness. Bueller, Bueller, Bueller

This sets the scene for a fantastic road movie where our leads spark off each other excellently, Steve's absolute horror at being stuck in Johns company and Johns obvious desperation for company are so well played that the film is a joy to watch from start to finish.

The film is full of so many excellent set scenes that they are to many to list, watch out for burnt-out car driving, fingers in the dashboard and a Bacon Chase.vlcsnap-2010-09-09-20h59m00s23

Watch. and laugh.
