Kick-Ass has been hugely controversial, this may seem odd given the rather comic book nature of the film (as it is an adaptation of a comic this is no surprise). The trailer below explains this…

If you watched that and thought “Oh my god that's disgraceful” then get the hell of my blog, in fact get the hell of the internet and give your PC, Apple Mac, iPhone etc to the nearest Hobo. He will sell it for smokes, cider and Horse but that is better then you owning it! The thing is kids swear all the time but seeing one do it so explicitly is FUNNY!

Kick-Ass then. The movie is outstanding. It is tightly written, funny, action packed (without being confusing) and hugely liberating amongst the pallid current output from the studios.

The movie follows the exploits of a wannabe superhero, but really the story is about one mans (and his daughters) campaign against an evil drug dealer. She has been trained as an assassin from a very young age and is good at her job!

Sound and vision is perfectly realised evoking just the perfect mood and the film never seems to flag, something pretty much all movies suffer from. The only thing that would make Kick-Ass better is if she had moved her hands…. You know what I mean!
